This song is now more than 20 years old, so in my opinion it qualifies as a #ThrowbackThursday track. This song has aged well. It still sounds great. But it does hit different now, knowing that the Chester (their vocalist) lost his battle to depression and anxiety. Makes you really appreciate the lyrics in this song, and all their other songs for that matter.

Why does it feel like night today? Something in here's not right today. Why am I so uptight today? Paranoia's all I got left

I don't know what stressed me first Or how the pressure was fed But I know just what it feels like To have a voice in the back of my head

Like a face that I hold inside A face that awakes when I close my eyes A face that watches every time I lie A face that laughs every time I fall (And watches everything)

So I know that when it's time to sink or swim That the face inside is here in me Right underneath my skin

It's like I'm paranoid lookin' over my back It's like a whirlwind inside of my head It's like I can't stop what I'm hearing within It's like the face inside is right beneath my skin ... The sun goes down I feel the light betray me...

Man, I miss Chester Bennington. I guess you could say a number of their songs were a foreshadowing of his eventual passing. What a beautiful song from Linkin Park.

Forgetting all the hurt inside You've learned to hide so well Pretending someone else can come And save me from myself I can't be who you are

When my time comes Forget the wrong that I've done Help me leave behind some Reasons to be missed Don't resent me And when you're feeling empty Keep me in your memory Leave out all the rest Leave out all the rest ♪ ♫ ♪

This song is over 20 years old now... still a great song.

I've put my trust in you Pushed as far as I can go For all this There's only one thing you should know

I tried so hard And got so far But in the end It doesn't even matter I had to fall To lose it all But in the end It doesn't even matter ♪ ♫ ♪
